About Us |
My love of horses is the first thing that I remember as a small girl growing up. Never being able to realize that dream until I turned 17. Secretly, I planned to buy a horse and locate a place to board it on my own. My passion went from a dream to becoming a reality. From that first horse, the next 15 years were dedicated to raising, breeding and showing Arabians. When the two youngest of our children turned 8 and 9, the question was asked; "Can we have a pony?" The spark was rekindled. Small, loving, gentle, easy to handle mini's were just the ticket! WillowDown Miniatures was born. I would like to thank Janet Mattei, for the opportunity to purchase horses from her farm Le Petit Cheval. These animals carry some of the finest champion bloodlines in the miniature horse world. Also, for the knowledge that she has graciously passed on to me and a new and valuable friendship. With the love and ever continuing support from my husband Dave and our 5 children; Jamison, Myka, Shephard, Dawson and Tuff; horses surround our every day lives again! All of our horses are registered with the A.M.H.A., A.M.H.R. and the PtHA . They were carefully chosen for their National Champion bloodlines, show quality conformations, gentle and loving temperaments. Extremely child safe and friendly. Always up to date on farrier trimmings, vaccinations and de-worming schedules. Each are led to and from pasture daily, in their own box stalls in the barn every night. Safety and cleanliness are extremely important at the farm. Of course, lots of hugs and attention from the kids each day! We are located in the small town of Berea, Kentucky. The head of the Appalachian Mountain Range. Please e-mail me, Sue at any time. The Roberts family door is always open.
